CHAPTER 1 : Business Driven Technology

           Assalamualaikum. Do you want to know about how to achieving business success ? Here I will explain a little bit about chapter one.  

          Before that I would introduce my self. Okay, my name is Natasha Najla Binti Mohd Noor, you can called me tasha or najla i don't mind. I'm from Kajang Selangor. I have 5 sibling including me and I love my mummy and daddy  :* 

Back to our story, in this chapter I have been expose to the :

• Different between management information system (MIS) and information technology (IT). 
• Describe the relationship among people, information technology and information.
• Identify four different department in a typical business and explain how technology helps them to work together.
• Compare the four different types of organizational information cultures

           There are huge impact of Information Technology's on Business Operation especially in the field of customer service, finance, sales and marketing, IT Operation, Operation Management, HR and Securities. The Information Technology project goals is to reduce cost, improve customer satisfaction, create competitive advantage, generate growth, streamline supply chain and for global expansion.

           Information Tecnology (IT) is a field concerned with the use of technology in managing and processing information. Information Technology is important for business success and innovation. Usually people used IT to get the information.

           

           Management information system (MIS) is a general name for the business function and academic discipline covering the application of people, technologies, and procedures to solve business problems. MIS is a business function, similar to Accounting, Finance, Operation, and Human Resources. 

           

The different between data, information and business intelligence: 

• Data is a raw facts that describe the characteristic of an event.
• Information is a data converted into a meaningful and useful context 
• Business Technology is a application and technology that are used to support decision making effort 

IT Cultures :

• Information Functional Cultures - employees use information as a means of exercising influence or power over others.

• Information Sharing Culture - employees across departments trust each other to use information especially about problems & failures to improve performance.

• Information Inquiring Culture - employees across departmentsearch for information to better understand the future & align themselves with current trends and new directions.

• Information Discovery Culture - employees across departments areopen to new insights about crises and radical changes and seek ways to create competitive advantages.
